1) Deborah Remington, born in Haddonfield, New Jersey on June 25, 1930 to April 21, 2010 (age 79), was an American abstract painter.

2) With an early inclination towards art, she enrolled in classes at the Philadelphia Museum School of Industrial Art as a teenager. In 1955, she received her BFA from the SFAI.

3) By the time she graduated from the Institute, she had become affiliated with the Bay Area’s Beat scene. In 1954, she was one of six painters & poets, & the only woman, who founded the Six Gallery.

4) In 1983 Remington had a twenty-year retrospective exhibition that opened at the Newport Harbor Museum in California. Her most notable work is characterized as Hard Edge painting abstraction.

5) She was elected to the National Academy of Design in 1999, and in the same year was the recipient of a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant.
