23-year-old soldier Yevhen Chupikhin, call sign Bekha, was killed on September 30, 2023, near the village of Andriivka in Bakhmutskyi district of Donetsk Oblast. While carrying out a combat mission to defend the Motherland, he suffered a fatal injury as a result of enemy artillery shelling.
Yevhen was born in the village of Ivashky in Kharkiv Oblast. He graduated from the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine, majoring in Fire Safety. He then decided to join the ranks of defenders of the Motherland.
On September 28, 2022, he signed a contract with the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He initially served in military unit A1048. During his service, he underwent basic military training in the United Kingdom and Northern Ireland. After training, he joined the 92nd Separate Assault Brigade named after the ataman Ivan Sirko. He received professional training in ATGM as a reconnaissance operator. He constantly worked on improving his professional skills and knowledge.
“Yevhen had many plans for the future; he wanted to start a family. He wanted to have a bright and long life for the joy of his loved ones. Zhenya was confident that there would definitely be victory, and he would return home… But the enemy took away the most precious thing from him – his life. He will forever be 23, but memories of him will be eternal. He will always remain in our hearts,” shared his girlfriend Kateryna Zavadska.
The fighter was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd Class.
Yevhen was buried at the Alley of Glory cemetery in the town of Zolochiv in Kharkiv Oblast.
He is survived by his parents, grandmother, grandfather, and girlfriend.
