Ukranian Martyr Vasyl Yurchuk

Senior Soldier Vasyl Yurchuk perished on October 8, 2022, during a combat mission near the village of Pershotravneve in Kharkiv region. He was 25.

Vasyl hailed from the village of Lopavske in Rivne region. After finishing school, he pursued a profession as a mason-plasterer at Demidivsky Higher Vocational School No. 25. He was interested in and passionate about construction, which was his main source of livelihood. He mostly worked abroad.

Amidst the full-scale war, in March 2022, he joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine to defend his homeland from Russian occupiers. He served in the 14th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Roman the Great and held the rank of senior rifleman.

“He was always responsible, sincere, honest, and had many friends,” noted his sister, Maria.

Senior Soldier Yurchuk V.V. was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd Class.

The defender was laid to rest in his native village.

Vasyl is survived by his parents, sister, and fiancée.
