Soldier Petro Chudyak, call sign Trotsky, was killed on August 31, 2023, near Kuzmine village in Luhansk region. While performing his duties, he came under enemy shelling and received fatal shrapnel wounds. The defender was 38 years old.

Petro Romanovych was originally from Kozhychi village, Lviv region. He graduated from Domazhyr secondary school of I-III grades under the IvanŠ¾-Frankivsk village council. In civilian life, he was involved in construction work. He dedicated his free time to self-improvement and his loved ones.

In December 2022, he received a draft notice and joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He underwent training in Ukraine and Slovakia, where he mastered mortar skills. Later, as part of the 42nd Separate Mechanized Brigade, he went to defend the Liman-Kupiansky direction in Donetsk region.

“My brother was kind, honest, hardworking, and brave. He loved life and his family. He couldn’t stand aside when the war began and bravely went to defend his Motherland,” said the deceased’s sister, Iryna Voznyak.

Petro was buried in his native village of Kozhychi.

At home, he was awaited by his mother, brothers, sisters, wife, and two children.
