Soldier Ihor Shevets, call sign Poseidon, was killed on September 7, 2022, while performing a combat mission near Velyki Prokhody village in Kharkiv region. The warrior was 41 years old.

Ihor Mykhailovych was born in Tovsta village, Sumy region. He lived in Horkoho village in Kharkiv region. He graduated from Kharkiv Vocational and Technical Education Center No. 2, where he obtained professions as a computer typesetter operator and an accountant. In 1998-1999, he studied at Kharkiv State Polytechnic University, which he left by his own desire. He was passionate about sports. Before the invasion, he worked as a raw materials supply manager at LLC Khlibzavod “Novo-Bavarsky.”

With the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, he joined the defense of Kharkiv region and Ukraine by joining volunteer forces. He served as a shooter in the shooting unit of the 227th battalion of the 127th Separate Territorial Defense Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

During his service, the soldier was awarded medals “For Bravery in Battle” and “For the Defense of the Hero City of Kharkiv,” and posthumously received the Order “For Courage” III degree.

“The best father, husband, son, uncle, brother. Just, kind, polite, caring, loving, intelligent, brave, strong, courageous, and with a great sense of humor,” said the deceased’s wife, Yulia.

The defender was buried in Horkoho village in Kharkiv region.

Ihor is survived by his parents, wife, daughter, relatives, friends, and comrades.
