Senior soldier Alexander Karpov, call sign Karp, was killed on September 13, 2023, near the village of Andriivka in Bakhmut district of Donetsk region during a combat mission in the course of artillery shelling. He sustained injuries, administered first aid to himself, and attempted to save his comrade. However, the injuries proved to be fatal. The warrior was only 24 years old.

Alexander was born in the city of Tokmak, Zaporizhzhia region. He graduated from the Vocational Education Center “Multidisciplinary Vocational Center” and obtained a profession as a pastry chef. He worked as a cook at the “Alaska” café in his hometown and later as a loader at a sewing factory. He was a creative person, passionate about fantasy literature and everything related to other dimensions with magic. Additionally, he loved cooking for his family and friends. He was always eager to learn something new and improve his skills. If he decided to do something, he never abandoned the task, meticulously checked his work, and accepted criticism with understanding. He had a talent for drawing and painting. He wrote poetry. He had many plans for his life and dreamed of having his own house and “his corner” in this world, as he lost his home due to the war.

During the full-scale invasion of the occupiers, Alexander fought for his country as part of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He held the position of a driver in the assault platoon. In the future, he wanted to continue his military career.

“He was a sincere and kind person. My mother accepted him as her own son. His death became painful for our entire family. We had many plans for the future. I am grateful to fate for giving me such a man. Grateful for the opportunity to see him two days before his death… But without him, it’s not life anymore, it’s just existence…” shared the deceased’s wife, Victoria.

Posthumously, the fighter was awarded the “Golden Cross” medal by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Alexander was buried at the “Zahreblya” cemetery in Smila city, Cherkasy region.

He is survived by his mother, wife, other relatives, friends, and comrades.
