Senior soldier Valeriy Chornyi died on October 15, 2023, defending the Bahmut sector of Donetsk region. Near the village of Klyshchivka, he suffered a fatal shrapnel wound due to enemy artillery shelling. The warrior was 24 years old.

Valeriy was from the village of Kamianyi Mist in Kirovohrad Oblast. He lived in Kropyvnytskyi city. He graduated from Kirovohrad Higher Vocational School No. 4, where he acquired the profession of a versatile lathe operator and CNC machine operator. He worked at the “Chervona Zirka” factory and also at the Sokolivskyi meat processing plant. After being drafted into the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he immediately signed a contract.

During the full-scale Russian invasion, Valeriy fought for Ukraine in the ranks of the 80th separate airborne assault brigade. Together with his comrades, he carried out combat missions in the hottest areas of the front.

“This person was my first love, we were in a relationship for three years. When I found out he died, my life completely changed. I still can’t believe it, although I probably never will. Thanks to him, I learned what true love is,” said Natalia Maheria.

Posthumously, Senior Soldier Chornyi V.V. was awarded the Order of Courage III degree.

The paratrooper was buried in Novomyrhorod city in Kirovohrad Oblast.

Valeriy is survived by his mother, sister, nephew, relatives, close ones, friends, and comrades.
