Senior Soldier Sergiy Kryuchko, call sign Kryuk, died during a combat mission on June 14, 2023, near the village of Zaliznyanske in Bakhmutskyi District of Donetsk Oblast. The warrior was 28 years old.

Sergiy was from the village of Bilka in Sumy Oblast. He graduated from Trostyanets Vocational-Technical School No. 25 and obtained a qualification as a tractor driver-mechanic in agricultural production. He worked for the railway in Trostyanets city. Before the invasion, he worked as a driver at the company “Europe-Trans-Agro”. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

During the full-scale war, he fought for his homeland as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served as a rifleman in the rifle company of the 30th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after Prince Konstantin Ostrozhsky.

“The best husband, father, son, brother. A very kind person who would always help even strangers. Responsible, sociable, always stood for truth, honor, and freedom. Forever in our hearts,” said the wife of the fallen defender, Lyudmyla.

Posthumously, Sergiy Hennadiyovych Kryuchko was awarded the Order of Courage, 3rd Class.

The Hero was buried in his native village.

He is survived by his mother, sister, wife, and daughter.
