Lieutenant Oleg Pavlenko, call sign Frantsuz, died on October 31, 2023, in the battle for the city of Avdiivka, Donetsk region. While carrying out a combat mission, he suffered a fatal explosive injury. The officer was 26 years old.
Oleg was born in the village of Syrotenky in Poltava region. He graduated from the National University “Poltava Polytechnic named after Y. Kondratyuk” and specialized as an economist. In civilian life, he worked as a locksmith repairing wheeled vehicles at LLC “Artemiy-Plus”. He loved music, played the guitar, and sang.
During the full-scale Russian invasion, he went to defend his country and loved ones. He served in the 407th Separate Rifle Battalion of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, where he was the commander of a machine gun platoon.
“He was an exemplary father, a loving and faithful husband, very kind. He helped everyone. He played the guitar beautifully and sang,” said the wife of the deceased.
The officer was buried in his native village.
At home, Oleg was awaited by his parents Natalia and Mykola, wife Nadiya, son Bohdan, and sister Olga.
