Senior Soldier Stanislav Kuzminsky was killed on April 3, 2022, in a battle with occupiers near the town of Popasna in Luhansk region. The defender was 26 years old.
Stanislav was born in the village of Runkoshiv, Khmelnytskyi region. After graduating from Hrushkiv Lyceum, he entered the Kamianets-Podilskyi College of Podilskyi State Agrarian and Technical University, majoring in Veterinary Medicine. After graduating in 2015, he worked as a veterinarian at a sheep farm in the village of Chabanivka. The following year, he was drafted into the military service in the Presidential Regiment in Kyiv.
From 2018 to 2021, he served under contract in the Armed Forces of Ukraine in military unit A2300. He completed a course of training for engineering and sapper specialties and received the qualification of a 1st class sapper. He participated in the Joint Forces Operation (JFO) in Donetsk and Luhansk regions.
On January 29, 2021, he was discharged from the army after completing his contract, but returned to the Armed Forces of Ukraine just two weeks later. From February 12, 2021, he served in the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after King Danylo. He was a sapper in the engineering and sapper platoon.
On February 24, 2022, at dawn, Stanislav informed his relatives that a full-scale war had begun. At that time, he was in the hospital receiving treatment but decided to interrupt it and return to his comrades defending Luhansk region.
Throughout his life, the soldier was repeatedly awarded medals, including “For participation in the antiterrorist operation”, “ATO Participant”, “Joint Forces Operation. For victory and loyalty”, the medal of the commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade “For military service to Ukraine”, “For victory and loyalty”. Posthumously, he was awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine by the commander of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade and the medal “For Courage” III degree.
“My brother was a determined, brave, and courageous soldier, a loyal friend, and comrade who faithfully guarded our peace, our future, our country from a cruel enemy, even at the cost of his own life. My brother is my dear and beloved person, taken away from me by war. I am proud of him,” said the soldier’s sister Tetiana.
The Hero was buried in his native village. Posthumously, he was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Staroushitska AH”.
At home, Stanislav was awaited by his parents and sister.
