Soldier Sergei Kanalosh, call sign “Kan,” was killed on March 28, 2023, while performing a combat mission near the village of Ozaryanivka in Donetsk region. He was forever 23.
Sergei was born in the village of Mykhaylenky in the Zhytomyr region. He completed 9 grades at the Velykokorovyntsi comprehensive school. In 2019, he served his conscription term in the National Guard of Ukraine. After demobilization, he went to work abroad. He always dedicated his free time to sports.
When the full-scale war began, he returned to his homeland and voluntarily joined the military enlistment office. Later, he joined the 4th Rapid Response Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine and went to the front lines.
“He was fair, brave, cheerful, and kind-hearted,” said the deceased’s sister Anastasia.
The defender was buried in his native village.
Sergei is survived by his parents, brothers, sisters, and his beloved girlfriend.
