Junior Sergeant Bohdan Pylip, call sign Bober, lost his life on October 10, 2023, while performing his duties near the town of Zhelanne in Donetsk Oblast. The defender was 32 years old.

Bohdan was born in the village of Volitsia, Lviv Oblast. In 2009, he completed secondary vocational education at the vocational school in Sudova Vyshnia. He underwent compulsory military service in Novohrad-Volynskyi, Zhytomyr Oblast. He served as a driver in the engineering forces. From 2017 to 2019, he served under contract in the army but was discharged due to health reasons. He then actively pursued his favorite hobby, breeding pigeons. Before the invasion, he worked at the “AgroSem” LLC.

On the second day of the full-scale invasion, on February 25, 2022, he volunteered to go to Kyiv. After the liberation of Kyiv, he returned home and on April 5, he mobilized into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was appointed the commander of the sapper unit in the military unit A4221. In September 2022, he was transferred to the 110th Separate Mechanized Brigade named after General-Ensign Mark Bezruchko, where he served as a senior medical instructor. As part of his unit, he participated in the defense of Avdiivka.

“Bohdan was a patriot and always sought justice. He successfully carried out combat orders. He was injured during the defense of Avdiivka on December 4, 2022, and after treatment, he returned to the front and served until his death,” said his brother Volodymyr.

The warrior was laid to rest in his native village.

Bohdan is survived by his parents, daughter, brothers, and nephews.
