Soldier Alexander Siotka was killed on February 16, 2023, during a combat mission near the village of Dibrova in the Luhansk region. According to his comrade, he led the charge into battle and, upon approaching the enemy position, drew their attack towards himself. His action allowed the retaking of the enemy’s position and the capture of 8 prisoners. During the assault, Alexander suffered a gunshot wound to the head and shrapnel wounds to the body, resulting in his death on the spot. He was just 42 years old.
Alexander Mykhailovych was born in the village of Zabuzhzhia in the Lviv region. He learned the profession of a carpenter at the Lviv Vocational-Technical School. He traveled for work and took odd jobs wherever he could. He was passionate about football, fishing, loved reading, had a good knowledge of geography, and the history of Ukraine. In his later years, he lived in the city of Sokal in his native region.
During the full-scale war, he voluntarily joined the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He underwent military training in Great Britain and later joined the Air Assault Forces. He served as a SPG gunner in the 81st separate airborne brigade.
