Senior soldier Alexander Mikhaletsky, call sign Mika, was killed on March 16, 2023, in the area of the village of Novoliubivka in the Luhansk region. He received fatal injuries in battle with the enemy due to artillery shelling. The defender was 29 years old.

Alexander was born in the city of Uman in the Cherkasy region. He lived in Mykolaiv region. He obtained a higher legal education at the Kirovograd Institute of Regional Management and Economics. He was passionate about football. He worked abroad. He dedicated his free time to his family and friends.

With the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, the man defended his country from occupiers in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He served in the 40th separate artillery brigade named after Grand Duke Vytautas. He held the position of a gunner-crew member of the artillery platoon.

“Sashko was a very kind person and a patriot, a beloved husband, and an infinitely loving father,” said the civilian wife of the deceased, Tamara Lyasota.

The warrior was buried at the Bohopil Cemetery in the city of Pervomaisk, Mykolaiv region.

Alexander is survived by his mother, civilian wife, and a child who was 1 year and 8 months old at the time of his death.
